There’s something really special about knitted baby booties 👶
They’re small, delicate and quick to make. Yet they’re also full of details that can make them practical, cute and personal. A pair of little baby shoes can be a lovely project to make whilst on maternity leave, a lovely gift idea or a sweet touch for a christening, naming ceremony or other special occasions.
In this collection, I have found 9 patterns for knitted baby booties, baby shoes and baby socks. There are both very simple styles and more decorative designs featuring cables, ribbing, stockinette stitch, lace patterns, faux cables and small fastenings with laces or silk ribbons.
Some of the styles have a classic and practical look that’s ideal for everyday wear. Others resemble little ballerina shoes or dainty baby shoes, which are perfect for special occasions when you want your slippers to be a little extra cute 🥰
You’ll find, amongst other things, baby booties with cables and ribbing, little knitted ballerina shoes, socks for newborns, Christmas socks with little hearts and pretty baby shoes with silk ribbons.
Several of the patterns range from the very smallest sizes for babies and toddlers, and some designs actually cover sizes from premature to 4 years. This makes the collection ideal, whether you’re knitting for a newborn, a baby or a slightly older child.
Small knitting projects such as baby booties are also ideal when you want to try out a technique on a smaller scale. Ribbing, lace patterns and cables can create a striking effect, even with just a few stitches.
