Knitted hair elastic / scrunchie.
The hair elastic is worked sideways in stockinette stitch.

Size:
Approximately 6 cm measured flat in width.

Yarn:
Drops Sky
50 g colour 09, red brick
50 g colour 14, light lilac
50 g colour 16, lemon
50 g colour 15, light mint

One hair elastic weighs approximately 18 g.

Knitting tension:
20 stitches across and 26 stitches up in stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm.

Sticks:
4.50 mm knitting needles
Needle numbers are for guidance only. If you get too many stitches in 10 cm, change to thicker needles. If you get too few stitches in 10 cm, change to thinner needles.

Accessories:
Elastic, approx. 20 cm.

‘Beat the Heat’ is a knitting pattern for a hair tie, also known as a scrunchie. It is knitted sideways in stockinette stitch in Drops Sky, which is a light and soft yarn made from alpaca, wool and polyamide. The scrunchie measures approx. 6 cm across when laid flat and weighs around 18 grams, so the pattern is ideal for small amounts of yarn or leftovers from other projects.
