Materials and Dimensions:

Knitted cover for candle lantern / jam jar / lantern

Size: one-size
The sleeve fits a glass with a circumference of approx. 22 cm; it should be knitted slightly smaller so that it can be stretched over the glass.

Yarn:
Drops Alpaca
50 g colour no. 100, natural

and use:
Drops Kid-Silk
25 g colour no. 01, natural

and use:
Drops Glitter
1 coil f.nr 01, gold

1 cover weighs approx. 7 g

Sticks:
6 mm knitting needles – or the needle size you need to achieve 15 sts x 19 rows in stocking stitch over 10 x 10 cm using 1 strand of each yarn.

Holiday Night is a knitting pattern for decorative covers for jam jars, which give the jars a soft and cosy lantern-like look. The covers are knitted in Drops Alpaca together with Drops Kid-Silk and a sparkling thread, which together create a light, cosy and subtly shimmering effect. These knitted glass covers can be used as home décor, on the garden table or as atmospheric table decorations for special occasions such as weddings and parties. Feel free to use LED lights in the glasses, and always take care with real candles, as yarn and heat are not a safe combination.
