Knitted and felted elf bottle covers

Goals:
Hat before felting: Circumference at the bottom: 38 cm. Height approx. 30 cm.
Hat after felting: Circumference: approx. 30 cm. Height approx. 19 cm. Materials:

Yarn:
Drops Snow
100 g f.nr 56, Christmas red
100 g f.nr 46, medium grey
50 g f.nr 53, light grey
50 g colour no. 01, natural

The yarn usage is enough for 2 hats, one in each colour and beards for both hats.

Needles, hooks and knitting tension:
Knitting needles. 8 mm – or the needle size you need to achieve 11 sts x 15 rows in stocking stitch over 10 x 10 cm.
After felting: 14 sts x 24 rows.
5 mm crochet hook – for making chain-stitch arches for the beard.
