Yarn:
Drops Alpaca
50 gr f.nr 100, natural
a remnant f.nr 2923, ochre
one leftover f.nr 8903, black
and use:
Drops Kid Silk
25 gr f.nr 01, natural
Wadding to fill the chickens

Knitting needles & crochet hook:
3.00 mm double-pointed needles – or the needle size you need to achieve 24 sts x 32 rows in stocking stitch using one strand of each yarn type, measuring 10 x 10 cm.
3 mm crochet hook – for the strap.

Knitting tips:
To avoid holes, work the yarn overs with the yarn twisted to the right, i.e. work into the back loop of the stitch rather than the front loop.

More about Piou Piou

Piou Piou is a knitting pattern for little Easter chicks, which can be used as charming decorations for spring and Easter. The chicks are knitted in Drops Alpaca and Drops Kid Silk, so that the finished pieces are soft and light, made from alpaca, mohair and silk. They are stuffed with wadding and fitted with a small crocheted loop so they can be hung on branches, displayed in the window or used to decorate the Easter table. The pattern uses only small amounts of yarn and is therefore also ideal for using up leftover yarn.
