Start with the Back:

Cast on 104 stitches and knit 4 rows to edge.
Knit straight up in pattern until the work measures approx. 53 cm, corresponding to 11 pattern groups (or longer if you wish), but end with a pattern needle.

Bind off the centre 30 stitches for the neckline: bind off 2 and 1 stitch on every other row.

Each side is finished separately.

Bind off the remaining stitches for the shoulder.

Front piece:

The pattern is 8 rows from the knit side. On the WS, all rows are purled.

Knit the front as the back until the work measures approx. 46 or 10 pattern groups. End with a pattern row.

Bind off the centre 12 stitches for the neckline for 3 - 3 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 1 - 1 - 1 on every other row.

Finish each side separately. Knit up to the same height as the back.

Close the remaining stitches on each side of the shoulder.

Assembly:

Sew the shoulder seams together and then the side seams.

Measure 16 cm to the armhole.

Neck edge:

Use 4 needles or a small circular needle for the edges.

Pick up 110 stitches and knit 5 rows. Bind off from the wrong side.

Armhole: Pick up 80 stitches. Knit 5 rows. Bind off from the WS.
