Shades of red can be warm, classic and a little dramatic in just the right way. In this combination, I've brought together two reds in Kid Silk with a red Baby Merino.
When you combine Kid Silk with Baby Merino, you get both softness and structure.
The light mohair sheen of Kid Silk adds depth of colour, while the merino adds body and warmth.
It's a colour combination that lends itself well to projects like hats, shawls or a soft sweater where the colours are allowed to play together.
You can tone the red Baby Merino 16 in a brighter direction with Kid Silk no. 61 (the clear one) or in a deeper tone with Kid Silk 14 (the darker one)
You can either knit the colours together for a slightly mottled look or use them separately in stripes or details. Either way, red is a passionate colour that really stands out!
I've also found a couple of knitting patterns where Drops Baby Merino and Drops Kid Silk go together.
